About The Position

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is seeking an EHS Specialist for their MMA-Environmental team. This role will assist clients with data gathering for environmental permitting and reporting requirements, including hazardous waste, air emissions, industrial wastewater, and stormwater. The EHS Specialist will develop, implement, and maintain environmental licenses, permits, reports, and other regulatory requirements on behalf of clients. Responsibilities also include conducting technical research, preparing environmental reports, performing compliance audits in complex manufacturing settings, conducting facility walkthrough inspections, and making corrective action recommendations. Additionally, the role involves performing technical environmental training such as hazardous waste training, DOT Hazmat training, SPCC training, and Stormwater training.

Requirements

• Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
• Bachelor of Science Degree required
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and guidelines including: RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, DOT Hazardous Material Regulations and corresponding state specific regulations governing hazardous waste, storm water, wastewater and air emissions.
• Advanced knowledge and use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Advanced knowledge of EPA reporting software systems (i.e. CDX, TRI-MeWeb, WIDNR Switchboard, WI WHOPRS, MN RCRA Info, MPCA e-Services)

Nice To Haves

• Masters in Environmental Health & Safety or Environmental Discipline preferred
• Prior experience in the EHS Consulting industry

Responsibilities

• Assist with data gathering for environmental permitting and reporting requirements for clients (e.g. hazardous waste, air emissions, industrial wastewater, stormwater).
• Develop, implement, and maintain all necessary environmental licenses, permits, reports and other regulatory requirements on behalf of clients.
• Conduct technical research/environmental report preparation.
• Perform compliance audits in complex manufacturing settings.
• Perform compliance audits in the form of facility walkthrough inspections.
• Make corrective action recommendations.
• Perform technical environmental training (i.e. hazardous waste training, DOT Hazmat training, SPCC training, Stormwater training etc.).
