About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the ongoing execution of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This individual will work closely with the EHS Manager support and adhere to policies, goals and objectives of the company. The EHS Specialist will assist with inspections, audits, training, monitoring, and reporting to maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college/university in a related scientific or technical field, or relevant experience required.
  • 2-5 years’ work experience supporting EHS programs in a manufacturing facility, with exposure to PSM work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to maintain professional and effective interactions internal and external customers.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a proactive approach to tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with permits, testing, and reporting.
  • Data collection and tracking of EHS metrics.
  • Coordinate employee and contractor training programs.
  • Work with employees and contractors to ensure they are properly trained to perform the work required in a safe manner.
  • Support EHS Manager in working with department managers to maintain best work practices to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Observe work activities and recommend improvements to ensure employees, assets and the environment is protected, and facility complies with federal state and local regulations.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and assist with compliance reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Respond to requests for EHS data as needed.
  • Work with employees to ensure plant is maintained in a clean, professional manner. Report any potential issues to EHS Manager.
  • Support communication with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and permit updates.
