EHS Specialist - 1st Shift (Onsite)

About The Position

Support implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety programs across the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. This position is for 1st shift. Must be flexible to work other shifts as assigned. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote. Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field; or HS diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct field inspections and interact with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Basic problem‑solving and hazard identification skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and basic environmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort with digital documentation systems

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial operations.
  • Experience in safety, environmental, or industrial work environments.
  • Safety certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other EH&S coursework.
  • Experience with incident investigation, safety training, or environmental programs.
  • Familiarity with contractor safety platforms such as ISN.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety programs across the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, and area audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and root‑cause analysis; support corrective action tracking and verification.
  • Deliver EH&S training and onboarding for employees and contractors as required.
  • Maintain and update EH&S records, permits, logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Support environmental programs including waste management, recycling, chemical storage, and spill prevention.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to help integrate safe work practices and hazard controls.
  • Participate in emergency response preparedness, drills, and equipment checks.
  • Assist in contractor oversight, including verifying qualifications and reviewing work activities for safety compliance.
  • Provide day‑to‑day EH&S support on the floor, responding to questions, equipment issues, and work‑area concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, safety campaigns, and employee engagement activities.
