About The Position

The EHS Specialist is responsible for leading and supporting the EHS function at the plant level. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety procedures, coordinating safety programs, investigating incidents, and providing support for environmental, health, and safety concerns.

Requirements

Five plus years of experience in an EHS role.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear.
Ability to lift 30 pounds.
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must not wear any loose-fitting clothing that may get in the way of moving machinery.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Previous work experience in a plastic injection molding environment preferred.
Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

Following, enforcing, and communicating all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
Coordinating the safety program including written programs, training, inspections, and committee activities to ensure that local and federal requirements are met.
Investigating incidents, performing root cause analysis, and developing corrective/preventative actions.
Providing support to the plant for environmental, health, and safety questions/concerns.
Reporting to the Management Team on the status of the environmental management system, including environmental compliance, system audits, and corrective action plans.
Leading workers compensation claims, including paperwork and communications with injured employees and TPA/insurer.
Other duties as assigned.
