About The Position

Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment. Mini-Circuits’ sells its products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive website. The EHS Specialist is responsible for assisting in managing various aspects of EHS programs in our three facilities located in Brooklyn and Long Island that comply with ISO 14001 EMS and SMS. This includes frequent interaction with various levels to ensure compliance with Federal, State & Local laws. This is a temporary, contracted role for a period of up to one year.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or international equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a safety and/or environmentally focused role.
  • Good understanding of OSHA General and Construction Industry standards 29 CFR 1910 & 1926.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Must be able to walk and stand to successfully conduct facility inspections and audits.
  • Proactive in the identification of Health & Safety hazards.
  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Occasional travel, some overnight, as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in safety, environmental or similar field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage hazardous materials storage to ensure required reporting and record-keeping requirements.
  • Emergency response activities (evacuation drills, evaluations).
  • Monitoring chemical storage location, recycling and disposal.
  • Fire safety system inspections and ensure compliance with FDNY regulations.
  • Safety site-specific training and documentation.
  • Regular safety committee meetings activities.
  • Monitoring to ensure all required permits are valid and up to date.
  • Successfully complete internal auditor training for ISO 14001 and participate in internal audits of various departments to ensure compliance.
  • Successfully complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Obtain FDNY certificate of fitness.
  • Incident investigation for safety and environmental incidents.
  • Conduct monthly AED & First Aid Kit inspections.
  • Organizing special EHS events (Safety Day, Safety Surveys).
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly inspections.
