About The Position

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of Ericsson's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Well-Being (EHS) programs at a designated data center site. The role serves as the primary onsite EHS resource, helping ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. Working within established EHS policies, standards, and procedures, the EHS Specialist conducts inspections, supports risk assessments, monitors compliance, assists with incident investigations, and promotes a positive safety culture. The role partners closely with site operations, facility management, contractors, and the broader EHS organization to ensure compliance with Ericsson requirements, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
  • 1-3 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a data center, critical facilities, construction, industrial, manufacturing, telecommunications, or similar operational environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, incident reporting, and risk assessment processes.
  • Familiarity with contractor safety management, permit-to-work systems, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively support multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced operational environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting EHS programs in data centers, mission-critical facilities, telecommunications, or construction environments.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety principles, NFPA 70E requirements, and lockout/tagout programs.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • ASP

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support Ericsson EHS policies, standards, programs, and procedures at the data center site.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, safety observations, and compliance audits to identify hazards and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support risk assessments, job hazard analyses, permit reviews, and safe work planning for operational and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, customer requirements, and site-specific procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations, near-miss reviews, and corrective action tracking to support continuous improvement.
  • Oversee contractor safety activities, including documentation review, site orientation, work authorization, and compliance monitoring.
  • Monitor high-risk work activities such as electrical work, lockout/tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space entry, working at heights, and material handling operations.
  • Maintain EHS records, training documentation, permits, inspection reports, and compliance-related files.
  • Coordinate and deliver site-specific EHS training, orientations, toolbox talks, and safety communications.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills, evacuations, and response procedures.
  • Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management, spill prevention, and environmental inspections.
  • Track and report site EHS metrics, trends, and corrective actions while escalating significant risks or compliance concerns to leadership.
  • Promote employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives, fostering a culture aligned with Ericsson's commitment to Target Zero.
