Requirements

  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification, a physical (including color acuity and hearing test), and drug screening
  • Positive and Verifiable Work History
  • 1–3 years of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) role or a closely related field.
  • Must be willing and able to wear all required safety protective equipment and comply with all other job-related safety requirements
  • Must be available to work any shift and day of the week.
  • Available and able to work overtime as required even with little or no advance notification
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination efforts with outside environmental consultants as necessary to ensure all environmental regulatory requirements are met.
  • Closely coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure daily environmental compliance.
  • Create, manage and deliver training for all personnel on safety processes and practices, new initiatives and injury and incident avoidance.
  • Promote a zero-injury, proactive, safety culture that identifies, minimizes, and eliminates risks and find ways to continuously improve our safety performance.
  • Identify and engage with safety risks and issues in the workplace and take ownership with the right team members to see things through to resolution.
  • Implement and coordinate safety processes for the plant and monitor work processes and systems to drive team performance.
  • Partner with Human Resources in the administration of workers’ compensation, light-duty work, and return to work programs.
