About The Position

The Environmental Health and Safety/Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety programs and for ensuring compliance with and reporting to appropriate regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety and Environment or ten years relevant experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity and understanding of Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements and reporting
  • Familiarity and understanding of International environmental laws and related industry standards
  • Basic organizational/management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage numerous tasks at the same time

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Corporate safety, health, and environmental programs
  • Maintain the emergency response plan for all US locations
  • Author and/or review Corporation Product Safety Data Sheets, SDS for US and International compliance
  • Review or advise on all new formulation chemicals for compliance with applicable International regulations
  • Review and advise on new chemical safety
  • Ensure that employees are properly trained in the operation and safety of factory equipment
  • Ensure that employees are properly trained in the handling/shipping of dangerous materials
  • Develop and implement Corporate policy in all areas of applicable safety and environmental regulations
  • Conduct periodic inspections of all US facilities for compliance with regulations
  • Perform workforce management staffing duties and oversee the workload of staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of assignments and regulatory reports
  • Supervise staff performance, including ensuring appropriate training, assessing competency, conducting performance evaluations, and developing staff
  • Maintain proficiency with the requirements of local, multi-state and federal regulatory agencies and insurance carriers
  • Comply with required reporting to regulatory agencies and Insurance carriers
  • Further develop programs to reduce hazardous waste and recycle materials
  • Review global customer specifications and ensure product compliance with stated environmental requirements
  • Assist global locations with environmental, health & safety issues as necessary
