About The Position

The EHS & Quality Manager serves as a key member of the plant leadership team and is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and continual improvement of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality Management Systems. This role ensures compliance with regulatory, customer, industry, and corporate requirements while promoting a culture of safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The position provides leadership for EHS and Quality personnel, supports business objectives through risk-based decision making, and drives initiatives that protect employees, improve product quality, enhance customer satisfaction, and strengthen operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in Quality, EHS, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing Quality and/or EHS functions.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and applicable state and local requirements
  • Strategic Leadership & Execution – Ability to develop and execute EHS and Quality strategies that align with business objectives while driving a culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management & Compliance Expertise – Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory standards with the ability to translate requirements into effective operational controls.
  • Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis – Demonstrated expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, A3, DMAIC, 5-Why, and FMEA, to identify systemic issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Leadership, Coaching & Talent Development – Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams through coaching, training, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Influence & Change Management – Ability to build credibility, influence cross-functional teams, and drive organizational change while fostering accountability and engagement at all levels of the organization.
  • Customer & Supplier Quality Management – Experience managing customer requirements, complaints, corrective actions, supplier performance, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and supply chain reliability.
  • Technical Writing & Documentation Control – Ability to develop, maintain, and communicate clear procedures, policies, standards, training materials, risk assessments, and technical reports.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety Program Management – Experience managing incident investigations, industrial hygiene programs, environmental compliance initiatives, hazard assessments, and employee safety engagement programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the plant leadership team, providing strategic guidance on Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety matters.
  • Develop and execute a site-specific EHS and Quality strategy aligned with corporate objectives and business goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop EHS and Quality personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure EHS and Quality requirements are integrated into all operational processes.
  • Lead and maintain the Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Oversee supplier quality, incoming inspection, quality assurance, quality control, customer complaints, and failure analysis activities.
  • Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor quality and EHS KPIs and corrective actions.
  • Ensure effective implementation of inspection plans, testing requirements, work instructions, procedures, and process controls.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of Environmental, Health & Safety programs ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, local, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and oversee facility inspections, job hazard analyses, environmental assessments, and compliance audits.
  • Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, near misses, first aid cases, and environmental events, ensuring effective corrective actions are developed and implemented.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs including waste management, stormwater, air permitting, chemical management, SDS administration, and environmental reporting.
  • Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives, hazard identification, stop-work authority, and behavioral safety programs.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene activities including exposure monitoring, PPE assessments, and hazard communication programs.
  • Maintain all required EHS records, permits, reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Facilitate risk-based thinking throughout the organization by integrating Quality and EHS considerations into business planning and operational decision-making.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven analysis.
  • Utilize trend analysis and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Promote preventive actions that reduce operational, environmental, safety, and quality risks.
