About The Position

Reporting to the Regional EHS Manager, the EHS Project Manager will bring leadership and strong project management skills to continually improve our EHS culture. The incumbent will provide technical expertise to our manufacturing plants, lead projects/initiatives, and will be responsible for providing functional excellence and leadership in the EHS cultural transformation in this key area of our business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in EH&S, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline required.
  • 3+ years applicable experience in management of environmental, health and safety systems.
  • Strong change management skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated strong facilitation skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong employee management skills, and solid project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a complex team environment, to include matrix leadership.
  • Ability to establish relationships and influence senior leaders and peers, while still being effective on the shop floor.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean or Six Sigma experience demonstrated via certification through an accredited entity or proven project experience.
  • GSP, ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
  • Experience in job shop / work cell manufacturing.
  • Project Management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide EHS initiatives that drive safety culture transformation and continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to influence strategy, manage high-impact projects, and implement best-in-class EHS programs.
  • Gain broad operational exposure through moderate travel, Lean/Kaizen initiatives, and collaboration with corporate and plant leadership.
  • Provides tactical EHS leadership and project management to designated manufacturing plants and business operations.
  • Assists with, develops, and executes strategic and integration plans for EHS across the network.
  • Assists with industrial hygiene management and conducts industrial hygiene surveys as needed.
  • Develops and implements EHS policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepares and delivers EHS training, as required.
  • Leads selected EHS audits and safety surveys.
  • Prepares improvement activities and events, ensuring proper resourcing and ties to business objectives, conducts post event follow-up, and audits results.
  • Serves as EHS subject matter expert for AWI Technology & Corporate.
  • Owns and drives EHS methodologies throughout the organization fostering culture change.
  • Leverages company sites through benchmarking, best practice sharing, and transfer of Kaizen activities.
  • Develops and implements safety and environmental management systems and network.
  • Investigates EHS opportunities in the plants and recommends corrective actions.
  • Integrates with other methodologies and initiatives throughout the organization.
