About The Position

EnSafe is seeking a full-time Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Professional to work as a consultant at a client site in East Hartford, CT. This position is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension. The role involves driving safety culture and compliance by translating regulations into site-specific procedures, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and fostering continuous improvement. EnSafe emphasizes empowering staff to practice their profession passionately and without limitations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related Health & Safety field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or consulting environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and state-specific EHS regulations.
  • Experience with safety program management, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of LOTO, PPE, confined space, fall protection, machine guarding, and JSAs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train employees and influence safe work practices.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including extended standing, walking, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned or progression toward Professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH)
  • Prior experience within aerospace.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular facility inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support EH&S programs including LOTO, machine guarding, ergonomics, PPE, and emergency response.
  • Perform incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene assessments, including air quality, noise, and workplace exposure evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain safety procedures, written programs, compliance documentation, and regulatory records.
  • Deliver EH&S training and safety communications to employees and leadership.
  • Track safety performance metrics and prepare reports to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to improve workplace safety, compliance, and environmental performance.
  • Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through employee engagement, coaching, and collaboration.
