About The Position

The EHS & Product Stewardship Specialist supports the safe and responsible use of our products and compliance in the markets served and assists with environmental health & safety compliance. They gather and analyze data, prepare documentation, conduct inspections and prepare compliance reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and/or 1-2 years of on-the-job experience in Environmental, Safety, Life Science, Environmental Engineering or Chemistry functions
  • Strong communication (oral & written), and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in both a team and independently
  • Ability to understand and develop systems to support EHS initiatives
  • Ability to communicate within all levels of the organization, as well as with outside organizations and regulatory agencies
  • Capable of handling potentially high-stress emergency situations
  • Proficiency with standard desktop computer software applications

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity of EH&S management systems (ISO, OSHA, GHS) will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and execute and improve the Product Stewardship Program, proactively identifying substances of concern and collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks through formulation changes, use restrictions, or targeted customer guidance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer regulatory inquiries and safety questionnaires, coordinating with internal teams to author and issue accurate, evidence-backed product compliance statements and safety declarations aligned with target market scopes and intended use.
  • Partner with R&D, Purchasing, and external suppliers to evaluate new product formulations, verify raw material compositions, and ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory credentials, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Interpret and determine the impact of complex domestic and international regulatory frameworks—including US requirements (TSCA, California Proposition 65, state PFAS laws, FDA food-contact rules) and global standards (REACH, RoHS/WEEE, POPs, EU MDR, PPWR, GADSL, and conflict minerals)—evaluating compliance risks based on product composition, intended use, and target markets.
  • Establish document control procedures to collect, review, and maintain accurate product compliance records—including supplier declarations, test results, and regulatory assessments—ensuring data remains updated to support compliance decisions.
  • Train internal teams on product stewardship responsibilities, translating complex regulatory updates and specific product use conditions into practical, actionable guidelines.
  • Create, review, and maintain accurate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), product labels, and hazard communication materials by evaluating formulation data and supplier SDSs to ensure compliance with OSHA Hazard Communication and global classification requirements.
  • Participate in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities, audits and inspections while assisting with the preparation of related permits, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
