About The Position

Primient is seeking an EHS Manager to serve as the Local H&S Team Leader, providing technical safety and health support for all aspects of the plant. This role involves developing and implementing programs and objectives, offering day-to-day support for safety and health initiatives, and leading a team of three direct reports. The position is crucial for making Primient an industry leader in Health and Safety (H&S), encompassing initiatives from environmental practices to fostering a psychologically safe working environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a process/food industrial environment.
  • Previous safety management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Experience in root cause investigation techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • CSP preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of Safety Compliance is preferred.
  • Safety Systems familiarity (i.e., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage performance and personnel development of the safety department, including a Safety administrator, Safety Specialist, and Safety Coordinator.
  • Develop clearly defined goals and objectives for the safety department, conduct performance evaluations, and support career development for direct reports.
  • Prepare, implement, and promote H&S Management Systems.
  • Review H&S performance to ensure company objectives and expectations are met.
  • Involve all employees in relevant H&S plans for activities and services.
  • Assess the existence and effectiveness of H&S plans through audits and reviews.
  • Review and track corrective actions for all incidents, defects, hazards, inadequacies of procedures, and suggested improvements.
  • Actively handle workplace injury claims, including reporting incidents, coordinating medical treatment, communicating with injured employees, and working with insurance companies to ensure proper benefits are provided while aiming to minimize costs and promote a swift return to work.
  • Implement leadership requirements specified in the H&S Management Standards.
  • Lead safety teams and Incident Investigations.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of applicable safety requirements.
