About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving site Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in support of regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture. This role requires expertise in hazardous waste and treatment operations, including RCRA compliance, as well as experience responding to CAPAs, delivering effective presentations, and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
  • Progressive EHS experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably within medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing EHS responsibilities independently, with the ability to function effectively as a one-person department.
  • Strong knowledge of RCRA and environmental compliance requirements, particularly in facilities with hazardous waste treatment or related operations.
  • Experience preparing responses to CAPAs, audit observations, and regulatory findings.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven leadership ability with the capacity to influence without direct authority and drive accountability across the organization.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute all site EHS programs, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and corporate requirements.
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for environmental compliance, including RCRA requirements related to hazardous waste handling, treatment operations, inspections, training, record-keeping, and readiness for regulatory audits.
  • Manage day-to-day EHS activities as a one-person department, prioritizing both strategic initiatives and tactical site support.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics and communicate trends, risks, and recommendations to site leadership and headquarters.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain site procedures, risk controls, and training programs that promote a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions; prepare documentation and corrective actions as needed.
  • Own or support investigations, root cause analysis, and timely responses to CAPAs, audit findings, incidents, and compliance gaps.
  • Deliver clear, effective presentations and training sessions to leadership, employees, and cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and other functions to drive continuous improvement and strengthen EHS awareness and accountability.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership, visibility, coaching, and effective communication.
