About The Position

Tosoh Quartz Inc. is seeking a Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to lead safety and environmental compliance at our Portland manufacturing site. Maintaining a safe, compliant, and stable operating environment is essential to reliable production and employee wellbeing. This role is responsible for regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and environmental risk management. The EHS Manager partners cross-functionally to ensure EHS programs are embedded in daily execution while maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Experience managing EHS programs, incidents, and regulatory interactions

Nice To Haves

  • ASP or CSP certification
  • Experience in semiconductor, chemical, or high-purity manufacturing
  • ISO 14001 / 45001 experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead site EHS programs and team
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations (air, water, waste, chemicals)
  • Establish EHS KPIs, track performance, and drive continuous improvement
  • Support EHS strategy aligned with operational and business needs
  • Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and inspections
  • Maintain continuous audit and inspection readiness with accurate, complete documentation
  • Lead response to regulatory findings, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Ensure all incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported, investigated, and resolved
  • Lead root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate, auditable EHS records and systems
  • Track leading and lagging indicators to improve safety performance
  • Partner with Operations to identify and prioritize EHS risks, including those related to aging infrastructure
  • Drive mitigation of facility-related risks such as exposure hazards, environmental conditions, and compliance gaps
  • Ensure risks and corrective actions are documented, prioritized, and tracked to completion
  • Develop and implement EHS training programs
  • Promote proactive hazard identification and employee engagement
  • Build a strong, accountable safety culture across the site
  • Embed EHS into daily manufacturing operations
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Facilities to support safe, compliant execution
