About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role involves maintaining safety equipment inventory, performing periodic safety inspections, monitoring hazardous waste removal vendors, and potentially assisting in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical). The EHS Manager will interact with various departments to conduct training in emergency response and hazardous material handling. This position monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies, recommending corrective actions where environmental health and safety hazards exist. The work of the EHS Manager, who may function as an Industrial Hygienist, involves industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities. This role also interacts with others in the administration of the worker’s compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions, while monitoring industrial health compliance. In some organizations, facility security may also be part of this employee’s responsibility. If safety is the primary responsibility, this role may align with a Safety Engineer.
