Johnson Controls is seeking a bilingual (French/English) Regional EHS Manager to lead and support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) operations across Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Requirements

Bilingual proficiency in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial and/or construction safety within multi‑facility environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong business acumen, and solid analytical capability with demonstrated influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience with Canadian COR auditing, and applicable Canadian environmental regulations.
Strong knowledge of CNESST - workers’ compensation systems, including claim life cycles, early intervention, modified duties, and return‑to‑work processes.
Willingness to travel 30–40% throughout Quebec and Atlantic Canada to support regional operations and field execution.

Responsibilities

Direct the effective implementation of strategic EHS initiatives that build and sustain a culture of EHS excellence across the region.
Lead and support the Region’s EHS function, validate adherence to requirements and goals, and guide improvement planning efforts.
Serve as a key partner to the Johnson Controls compensation team, supporting all reporting requirements, acting as the primary contact between the injured worker and the compensation team, and providing continued support throughout the full life cycle of the claim.
Direct the implementation of Johnson Controls’ EHS strategy at your Area level, partnering with business unit EHS teams to refine approaches based on performance outcomes.
Educate Area, and Branch leadership on behaviors and practices that reinforce a high‑performing EHS culture.
Collaborate with EHS teams to identify incident trends and initiate corrective actions at the Regional level.
Work with Regional leadership to address roadblocks and provide informed recommendations for corrective action.
Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and oversee the Region’s Incident Review process.
Implement EHS programs and processes across all operational levels—Regional, Area, Branch, and project/site—based on business needs.
Deliver targeted EHS training to employees at all levels based on identified needs and regulatory requirements.
Finalize and report EHS performance metrics, including Leader EHS Practices and progress toward Regional and corporate EHS goals.
Conduct required audits and collaborate with leadership to develop, complete, and track improvement plans.
Present and promote Johnson Controls’ EHS programs and performance data to external customers when required.
Partner with service and site leadership to maintain Canadian COR certification and ensure ongoing compliance.
Serve as the first point of contact for all first‑aid cases and workers’ compensation inquiries, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and follow‑up.
Work closely with the Johnson Controls workers’ compensation team to manage the full CNESST claim life cycle, including early intervention, modified duties, return‑to‑work coordination, and claim progression.
