About The Position

Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team. The EHS Manager will be responsible for evaluating multi-site safety systems for improvement opportunities and to subsequently build safety system processes, guidance and documentation. To ensure compliance with applicable regulations while promoting a strong safety culture across the facilities, the EHS-Manager will work under supervision of the Divisional Compliance Officer to mature existing systems and align across the Division. This role will partner closely with site EHS leads, operations, engineering, quality, and leadership teams to reduce risks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and implement best practices that support a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • A degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field or Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or similar.
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or high-tech industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
  • Experience developing and implementing EHS programs and compliance initiatives.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence employees at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • VPP or OSHA authorized trainer experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience with safety management systems and continuous improvement programs.
  • Experience working with government or defense-related compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as the primary hands-on EHS resource to support site leadership and EHS leads in documenting safety policies, procedures, and compliance resources.
  • Facilitate completion of safety inspections, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and workplace audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention initiatives.
  • Maintain required EHS documentation, records, reports, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Support regulatory inspections and coordinate responses to findings.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and leadership as we move through our maturity model.
  • Monitor environmental programs and ensure compliance with applicable environmental requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve workplace safety, processes, and operational performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, environmental performance, and operational excellence.
