Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in health and safety management (required)
3+ years of experience working in EHS-related programs (required)
Previous experience working with chemical safety practices (required)

Nice To Haves

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification (preferred)
In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience working in EHS-related programs (required)

Responsibilities

Lead, develop and direct the environmental, health and safety programs regionally across the organization’s Service Delivery function.
Oversee conformance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and Company policies.
Lead their respective region toward improved safety performance in conjunction with Arcwood leadership.
Promote a strong behavior-based safety culture through proactive approaches that align with Arcwood’s core values and safety principles.
Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
Establish and facilitate Company-wide environmental, health and safety initiatives throughout an assigned region.
Build a behavior-based safety culture through communications, employee involvement and ownership, and actions taken.
Implement safety leadership training to improve overall execution of safe practices.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to all departments when required regarding environmental, health and safety questions or issues.
Monitor and measure Company safety performance using key metrics with a focus on leading indicators.
Develop and maintain Company safety improvement plans.
Lead continuous improvement training content development and management to further educate team members.
Develop and implement policies and procedures, in conjunction with Corporate guidance, to ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices.
Implement and enhance an organizational incident management system.
Maintain responsibility for ensuring locations are audit-ready, both internal and external, to ensure conformance with environmental, health and safety requirements and Corporate policies.
Identify corrective and preventative action needs through audit, incident investigation, and observation/near-miss data trending.
Provide Corporate assistance in controlling losses from injuries, liabilities, and property losses.
Coordinate efforts with occupational medical facilities to ensure treatment protocols and return-to-work programs are established and adhered to.
Provide guidance and support for medical surveillance activities, annual physical programs, and industrial hygiene monitoring surveys.
Represent the organization with OSHA and other regulatory officials regarding inspections and investigations.
Maintain the ability to travel regionally to Arcwood facilities, up to 50% of the time.
Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
