This role will partner with a wide range of teams across engineering, technical development, and operations to support safe work practices, manage risk, and build scalable safety programs that enable innovation while protecting people, facilities, and equipment. You will develop and oversee programs that support high-risk work activities, technical workflows, and complex equipment environments. You will also drive safety-by-design with engineering teams, strengthen compliance frameworks, and support incident management across multiple locations. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, technical environments with evolving operational needs.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of EHS experience supporting engineering, technical operations, manufacturing, R&D, or other high-risk environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of equipment safety, risk assessment methodologies, and high-risk operational controls.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA/Cal-OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and relevant safety standards.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and embed safety into early-stage development and operational planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH, or equivalent are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead EHS programs supporting engineering, technical operations, and development environments across multiple sites.
  • Conduct risk assessments for equipment, processes, and high-risk activities; define and implement effective controls.
  • Develop, maintain, and scale SOPs for technical workflows, equipment use, and hazardous operations.
  • Partner with engineering teams to embed safety-by-design into tools, workspaces, and operational processes.
  • Own regulatory compliance across OSHA/Cal-OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and related standards.
  • Manage programs for hazard communication, hazardous materials, electrical safety, equipment safety, and contractor activities.
  • Lead incident investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver targeted safety training, support onboarding and permitting, and reinforce a strong on-the-floor safety culture.
