Fuller’s Internship Program: You’ll be joining a cohort of talented students from a variety of schools across the U.S. We hire interns in the following positions: Process Engineering, R&D, Strategic Sourcing, Technical Sales, Supply Chain, Product Marketing, Information Technology, and more. You’ll be supported by your Manager and Mentor to gain in-depth knowledge of the adhesive industry and collaborate with various departments and functions. Location: Chagrin Falls, OH Department: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Our Internship Experience includes: 12-week paid program beginning the end of May to mid-August to gain insight and knowledge in your field. Interactive orientation and events with skilled professionals in your field, including managers, directors, and CEO. Multiple networking, volunteer and fun events – both virtual and in-person. Impactful projects that make a difference internally and externally for H.B. Fuller. End of summer final presentation to showcase your career development with support from managers and peers. Position Overview: The EHS Intern will support environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a chemical manufacturing facility. Working closely with EHS professionals, production teams, and site leadership, this role will assist with safety audits, regulatory compliance activities, waste management programs, and continuous improvement projects that promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Rising junior or senior standing at the time of the internship.
  • Strong interest in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for non-routine tasks and recommend risk mitigation measures.
  • Perform routine hazardous waste inspections to support environmental compliance.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing new recycling and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct 5S audits across departments and track corrective actions.
  • Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Conduct and document contractor safety observations.
  • Develop toolbox talks, safety communications, and training materials to support employee awareness and engagement.
