Job Summary: Leads Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategy, governance, and execution across a large or multiple project. Aligns project-level EHS priorities with enterprise and business unit goals to drive safety performance, risk reduction, and compliance. Partners with project leadership to integrate EHS objectives into project delivery, ensuring proactive hazard identification, regulatory readiness, and a culture of accountability. Directs multidisciplinary teams and external partners to achieve high-impact results and continuous improvement in EHS outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or associates degree in occupational safety, environmental health, engineering, construction management, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience in construction EHS required, including leadership of complex, large-scale or mega projects and multi-discipline EHS professionals or BU EHS leadership experience.
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour Construction training required.
  • OSHA Course 500 training required.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid (FA), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), or Naloxone Administration (Narcan) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Defines project-wide EHS strategy, goals, and maturity targets aligned with enterprise and business unit standards.
  • Oversees EHS governance and audit programs across all project phases, ensuring consistent application of policies and regulatory compliance, inclusive of Self-Perform Work.
  • Leads serious-incident investigations, learning reviews, and communication of findings across the project and to the enterprise EHS team.
  • Partners with project executives, operations, and trade partners to plan and mitigate high-risk work and integrate EHS into project execution.
  • Develops and mentors project EHS professionals, building capability and succession within the project and across the enterprise.
  • Represents the project in regulatory interactions, owner and stakeholder engagements, and cross-project EHS forums.
  • Tracks and reports EHS performance metrics, analyzing trends to inform leadership decisions and program adjustments.
