Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience driving safety in a design and manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead safety training programs and engage employees at all levels.
  • Experience with EHS implementations in conjunction with facility build-outs

  • Experience with safety in design and development of capital equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA and local regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the Safety Officer and lead the EHS Committee, driving cross functional involvement and a strong behavioral safety culture
  • Support facility improvements/expansions and equipment installations by conducting EHS design reviews and safety assessments in conjunction with the engineering teams.
  • Conduct regular site safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Work closely with Johnson Controls corporate safety group to support company wide policies, compliance, and initiatives.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to prevent future occurrences.
  • Manage hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal processes, including waste characterization and documentation.
  • Deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors to ensure a strong culture of safety and compliance.
