About The Position

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving health, safety, and environmental programs within a medical device manufacturing facility. This role focuses on safe management of hazardous waste, compliance with federal and local regulations (OSHA, EPA), and accurate preparation and handling of regulatory forms. The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge of applicable regulations and experience in highly regulated environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or related field.
• 1 to 5 years in EHS roles within regulated industries (preferably medical devices, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, including handling of regulatory forms and reports.
• Experience in hazardous waste management and coordination with authorized transporters.
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to operational processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
• Effective communication, attention to detail, safety leadership, teamwork, and ability to work under pressure.
• Spanish and English (technical reading and writing).

Responsibilities

• Manage the hazardous waste program, including storage, transportation, and final disposal in compliance with EPA and local regulations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA standards, including preparation and maintenance of required forms and reports (e.g., waste manifests, compliance reports).
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits.
• Develop and deliver training on occupational safety, chemical handling, and emergency response.
• Monitor safety and environmental performance indicators and propose corrective and preventive actions.
• Support incident investigations and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
