About The Position

The EHS Compliance Specialist will lead and maintain EBI compliance programs, ensuring adherence to customer, regulatory, environmental, and social compliance requirements. This role involves coordinating audits, assessments, certifications, and corrective action plans, while maintaining accurate compliance records and supporting broader EHS initiatives like workplace safety and OSHA compliance. The specialist will identify compliance risks, serve as a point of contact for audits, and collaborate with Human Resources on employee training and onboarding. A key aspect of this role is fostering a strong culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, standards, regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple compliance programs, audits, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous compliance experience is highly preferred, particularly within a manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environment.
  • Experience working with compliance programs such as C-TPAT, IWAY, FSC, OSHA, environmental, customer, or social compliance standards is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in EHS, safety, manufacturing, auditing, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain EBI compliance programs, including but not limited to customer, regulatory, environmental, and social compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate compliance audits, assessments, certifications, corrective action plans, and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and ensure policies, procedures, and supporting documentation remain current.
  • Support EHS programs, including workplace safety inspections, incident documentation, safety training, OSHA compliance, and corrective actions.
  • Identify compliance risks and work with management to implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external compliance audits.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure proper onboarding, orientation, and required training for new and existing employees.
  • Track and maintain required employee safety and compliance training records and assist with scheduling refresher or recurring training as needed.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of EHS and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Partner with management and employees to promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional EHS and compliance-related duties as assigned.
