About The Position

APTIM is seeking an energetic and motivated EHS Business Systems Analyst Intern. This intern will work within the Environmental Consulting & Sustainability (EC&S) business unit, gaining hands-on experience in business analysis, data analytics, and digital solutions development and implementation. You will learn to analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to implementing digital or automation solutions that enhance project performance and delivery. The STRIVE Internship Program is a 12-week experience running from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. Interns are required to be fully available during Week 1 (May 18--22) and Week 12 (August 3--7) of the program. Week 12 includes company-paid travel to an APTIM office (location to be announced) for an end-of-internship celebration.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a four-year degree program in related field, such as Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, etc.
  • Coursework in Environmental Science or Occupational Health
  • Programming experience in HTLM, .NET, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL, JSON, Rest API, XML, Python, CSS, or other programing language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Basic understanding of EHS domain and software systems (e.g., Cority, Enablon, Intelex, Sphera, VelocityEHS, or other leading EHS platform).
  • Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Prior web and mobile application development and testing experience.
  • Foundational Knowledge of Data Modeling: Understanding how to structure relational databases for environmental reporting.
  • Ability to work shifts of at least 8 hours, and occasionally longer, 5 days per week
  • Ability to work in office environment and collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to receive and understand directions from supervision and management
  • Team player who is deadline driven, works well with others, and is flexible in terms of work hours
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Engage with cross-functional teams to elicit and document requirements from business stakeholders on systems and data needs.
  • Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to analyze environmental, health and safety (EHS) data.
  • Research, innovate and optimize business processes by identifying challenges and proposing project solutions.
  • Develop workflows and support configuration of enterprise solutions by project-specific requirements.
  • Develop dashboards, custom reports, and data visualizations using business intelligence tools.
  • Use AI-driven data analysis tools to support decision-making.
  • Summarize and present project outcomes to business teams.
