About The Position

Samsung Austin Semiconductor’s EHS team is seeking a qualified engineer to serve as the safety and environmental gatekeeper for all new and upgraded semiconductor processing tools. Reporting to the ESO and Commissioning EHS Manager, the Engineer will embed EHS considerations into every phase of equipment qualification— from initial design reviews and risk assessments through final testing—ensuring that each tool meets Samsung’s rigorous performance specifications while fully complying with OSHA, EPA, and international SEMI standards. The role requires conducting hazard analyses, validating interlock and emergency‑stop functions, and preparing comprehensive EHS sign‑off packages that accompany the final production release documentation. The EH&S Equipment Sign‑Off Engineer is a key member of the Safety & Commissioning team. You will own the end‑to‑end verification, validation, and release of new and upgraded semiconductor processing tools that feed our advanced semiconductor wafer lines. This position bridges safety, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure that every piece of equipment meets Samsung’s performance, reliability, and safety standards before the equipment is operating in the fab. Strong analytical skills and being a self-starter are paramount for this position. Having a proven track record of leading small cross-functional teams and the ability to translate technical safety data into clear guidance and present across the organization are also essential. By championing a “zero‑harm” culture and driving continuous improvement of safety‑critical processes, the ESO engineer will play a pivotal role in safeguarding people, the environment, and Samsung’s cutting‑edge manufacturing operations.
