About The Position

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a EH&S Engineer located in Columbia SC. Reporting to the EH&S Manager, the Environment Health & Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the manufacturing facility. This role serves as a technical resource to all departments, supporting occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, ergonomics, emergency preparedness, workers' compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and EH&S experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of hands on Environmental, Health & Safety experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and applicable State regulations.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Ability to influence all levels of the organization and drive safety culture improvements.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or related certification.
  • Lead Auditor certification in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary EH&S resource for manufacturing operations, engineering, maintenance, and support functions.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Review equipment, machinery, and facility modifications to ensure appropriate safety controls are incorporated during design and installation.
  • Recommend and implement engineering, administrative, and PPE controls to reduce workplace risks.
  • Support environmental compliance programs, including waste management, air emissions, stormwater, wastewater, and spill prevention initiatives.
  • Investigate injuries, illnesses, near misses, environmental incidents, and property damage events.
  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs and other required compliance documentation.
  • Promote employee engagement through safety committees, behavior-based safety initiatives, and awareness campaigns.
