About The Position

The EH&S Engineer / Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace by implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs. This role conducts audits, manages regulatory compliance activities, oversees hazardous materials and safety equipment programs, and develops training to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. The position requires strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations, experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, and the ability to drive corrective actions and sustainable safety improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or 6–8 years of experience as a Safety Technician.
  • 4–6 years of health and safety experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Certified First Responder, OSHA 30, or other related safety certifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex compliance or engineering issues and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours for training, audits, or investigations as needed.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, LMS systems, and related software.
  • Ability to develop and deliver EH&S training programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physical activities required to support workplace inspections and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, readiness, and proper utilization of accident prevention procedures, first aid supplies, protective equipment, and fire prevention systems.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, state, federal, and other applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Manage hazardous materials storage, tracking, usage, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) administration and audits.
  • Recommend, implement, and follow up on corrective actions, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety initiatives.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections and oversee inventories of safety and fire protection equipment.
  • Monitor workplace health and environmental conditions, including ergonomics, air quality, and waste disposal practices.
  • Develop, update, and distribute safety documentation, manuals, and procedures.
  • Conduct and facilitate employee safety training and awareness programs.
