About The Position

ASRC Federal is seeking an EGSE Mechanical Test Engineer in Littleton, CO. This role involves developing procedures, test software scripts, and documentation for subsystem and system-level testing. The engineer will conduct integration and test activities with flight hardware and ground systems, collaborating with various engineering disciplines, program management, planning, quality, safety, and CPEs. A key responsibility includes developing, updating, maintaining, and documenting electrical designs and schematics for the Orion EGSE cable group subsystem, covering various ground cable mediums, connectors, plates, and splices for both vacuum and non-vacuum environments. A solid understanding of the electrical cable interfaces for the Orion EGSE core racks used to support ATLO testing is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 8 – 10 years of related work experience required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Experience with assembly, integration, and test of ground support equipment and/or flight hardware subsystems onto a Flight Spacecraft.
  • Knowledge/experience with electronic circuits, automated test software, manufacturing processes, and the manufacturing test environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge of spacecraft/aerospace test operations.
  • Experience with COTS equipment and system integration, electrical/electronic troubleshooting and design including RF and telemetry systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective cross- functional relationships and an ability to work and lead in a team environment.
  • Solid engineering skills/foundation including problem/anomaly identification, analysis, resolution and closure in support of testing.
  • Experience generating test plans and test procedures for EGSE and/or spacecraft HW.
  • Understanding of electronics & electrical components and systems
  • Understanding of electrical circuits and power systems
  • Familiarity with using basic electrical test equipment
  • Cable design development using Zuken E.3 cabling

  • UNIX/LINUX Experience
  • Experience with scripting languages (Shell/Bash, Python, Perl)
  • Experience developing EGSE requirements and performing EGSE functional testing.
  • Experience developing and executing procedures in Automation Framework.
  • Experience with spacecraft commanding and telemetry monitoring software.
  • LM Automation Framework
  • Familiarity of LM PMP and MAP specifications for ground designs

Responsibilities

  • Develop procedures, test software scripts and other documentation needed to conduct subsystem and system level testing.
  • Conduct a wide range of integration and test activities involving flight hardware and ground systems.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, program management, planning, quality, safety and CPEs.
  • Develop, update, maintain, and document electrical designs and schematics for the Orion EGSE cable group subsystem. Cable designs would be inclusive of all ground cable mediums, connectors, plates, and splices that operate in both a vacuum and non-vacuum environment.
