About The Position

The Egg Processing Associate is responsible for supporting egg handling, processing, and packaging operations while ensuring product quality, accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. This role operates in a fast-paced production environment and requires strong attention to detail, awareness, and the ability to maintain efficiency and cleanliness throughout the work area.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move cartons of eggs as needed.
  • Strong focus on cleanliness and product quality.
  • Good communication skills to report issues to supervisors or managers.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must follow safety protocols and be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods during shifts.
  • Ability to lift cartons of eggs, and bend or stoop to clean up or adjust cartons as necessary.
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform egg handling and processing tasks in accordance with daily production schedules and order requirements.
  • Ensure that all eggs being packed are clean and free from damage.
  • Inspect each egg for quality and remove any that are broken or flawed.
  • Maintain a clean work area and ensure nothing in the surrounding area contaminates the eggs during packing.
  • Follow all hygiene and safety protocols to prevent contamination of the product.
  • Monitor the packing line to ensure it is operating efficiently. If any issues arise, immediately report to the supervisor or manager to address the problem.
  • Verify that the date stamps on the cartons are clear, readable, and match the order.
  • Ensure the USDA seal is correct and corresponds with the date of the production run.
  • Assist with processing line operations, ensuring equipment and workflow are functioning efficiently and reporting any issues to a supervisor or manager.
  • Verify that packaging, labeling, and date coding are accurate, legible, and meet USDA and company requirements.
  • Ensure proper product identification, including required stamps and markings, are visible and correct.
  • Handle and segregate damaged or non-conforming eggs according to established procedures for disposal or reprocessing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area at all times, including immediate cleanup of spills or product on the floor.
  • Support overall production operations and maintain an organized workstation that allows safe and efficient movement.
