About The Position

The EEG Technologist Registered provides routine, sleep-deprived, and long-term electroencephalogram (EEG) studies as ordered by a physician for adult and geriatric patients. The technologist provides clinical oversight for non-registered technicians performing EEG procedures and serves as a super-user/system administrator for the digital EEG and long-term EEG monitoring systems. The position is based on-site at Lourdes Health System in Camden and is per diem, with night-shift 12-hour coverage as needed and one weekend per month.

Requirements

High school education.
Graduate of an accredited EEG program.
BLS certification.
EEG ABRET registry required within one year of employment/hire.

Nice To Haves

College education preferred.
A minimum of one year of adult and pediatric neurology experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
Experience in Long Term Monitoring and with critical patients is preferred.
Knowledge of digital EEG systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform various types of electroencephalogram studies.
Obtain patient history from the medical record and document information in the digital EEG system.
Ensure patient orders and charges are correct and appropriate.
Maintain the digital EEG and long-term monitoring systems.
Clip long-term monitoring studies to reduce required server space.
Provide clinical oversight for unregistered EEG technicians.
Ensure and measure the clinical quality of EEG procedures performed.
