EEG Technician
About The Position

We are seeking an experienced EEG technician to join our team! Under general supervision the EEG tech performs prescribed radiologic/diagnostic procedures requiring specialized knowledge and skills in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to a specified patient population. Ensures accurate diagnostic results for patients of any age of graphically recorded impulses generated by the brain providing quality outcomes by performing EEG (electroencephalogram) consistent with department policies.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a certified END program. Board Certified (ABRET) or registry eligible
- Knowledge of all phases of EEG testing, long term monitoring and neuro ICU experience required
- At least 3 years’ experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting, performing routine and complex EEG’s.
- Proficient with Pediatrics (preferred), Adult and Geriatric patients
Responsibilities
- Perform Electroencephalogram (EEG) and evoke potential studies
- Recognition of ictal and inter-ictal electrographic patterns
- Manage clinical seizure and/or other medical emergencies as required
- Prepares patient for procedures, communicates procedure, positions for procedure and assist patient through all phases.
- Use mobile unit as appropriate
- Properly use and maintain equipment and supplies.
