About The Position

The EEG Technician performs EEG tests as requested by a physician. This role involves gathering patient medical history, explaining testing procedures, preparing the patient for the procedure, monitoring the patient’s status, noting any abnormalities during testing, and reporting findings to the physician. The technician is also responsible for entering appropriate data into computer modules and verifying and reordering department supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EEG Certification required.
• BLS authorization preferred or obtained within 90 days of date of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in clinical Neurophysiology preferred.
• Previous healthcare/ EEG experience preferred.
• Registered EEG Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform EEG tests as requested by physician.
• Gather patient medical history, explain testing procedures and prepare the patient for procedure.
• Monitors the patient’s status and notes any abnormalities during testing.
• Reports findings to physician once testing is complete for further analysis.
• Enters appropriate data in computer modules.
• Verifies department inventory levels and reorders additional supplies as needed.
