Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of patient care experience required or current student in the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Clinical Neurophysiology Technology Program.
  • Computer skills including Windows based applications.
  • Ability to navigate through multiple applications and platforms with ease.
  • Strong ability to work independently, remain goal-oriented, and maintain excellent organizational skills.
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or patient care.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proper telephone etiquette, professional face-to-face interactions, and effective electronic correspondence.
  • Proven ability to communicate confidently and credibly with individuals and small groups.
  • Exhibit a friendly, positive demeanor and bring energy and motivation to daily responsibilities.
  • Skilled in handling challenging situations, staying composed under pressure, demonstrating empathy, and maintaining constructive communication in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Adept at transforming problems into opportunities by crafting innovative and creative solutions.
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving work environments, with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
  • Open to adjusting work schedules to accommodate departmental or clinical needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in roles such as desk operations specialist, nursing assistant, patient care assistant, procedural support assistant, or licensed practical nurse.
  • Previous experience in Neurology.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

  • Support specific clinical neurophysiology areas within the Department of Neurology, including Autonomics, Electroencephalography (EEG), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), Neurology Gait Lab, Interoperative Neurophysiology Monitoring (IONM), and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
  • Be cross-trained in multiple areas of the practice based on departmental need.
