MOCA Education aims to foster a more collaborative, inclusive, and learner-centered educational environment that cultivates intellectual growth through contemporary art experiences and enhances access to the power of art. The Educator will primarily focus on the Contemporary Art Start (CAS) program, a year-long initiative partnering with 3rd-12th grade classrooms across Los Angeles County. CAS supports teachers in leading inclusive discussions about contemporary art with their students using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS). This part-time role (12-20 hours per week) involves assisting in the development and execution of discussion-based tours for students and learner-centered professional development for teachers within CAS, as well as supporting family programs. Family programs feature in-person events with guided tours and art-making, alongside self-guided art activities. MOCA seeks candidates interested in becoming highly trained teacher-coaches.
