About The Position

foundry10 is seeking a temporary, part-time educator to join the Career Connected Learning and Life Skills (CCLLS) Team. The CCLLS Team aims to help young people discover their purpose and prepare them for successful careers and adult lives through a combination of research, educational programming, and philanthropy. The educator will support the program developer in running the Youth Leadership Cohort (YLC), a 4-week program for 14 to 18-year-olds focused on workforce readiness skills and developing philanthropic project proposals. Responsibilities include pre- and post-program tasks, co-facilitating workshops, providing guidance on philanthropy projects, coordinating with guest speakers, and assisting with other assigned needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in education, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience facilitating programming with high school aged students from diverse backgrounds, including those who may be disengaged from school.
  • Experience coordinating administrative or program logistics, including scheduling, communication tracking, and event or meeting support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strength-based perspective and growth mindset when working with youth.
  • Must live in Washington State and be able to work in person in the greater Seattle area.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Adherence to masking and COVID testing policies when working in person.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond promptly to email and text communications from cohort participants, guardians, and guest speakers.
  • Follow up with the program developer as needed.
  • Track participants' hours and follow up with individualized support as needed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for guest speakers, both internal and external to foundry10.
  • Respond to guest speaker needs and ensure the room is set up on the day of their engagement.
  • Coordinate lunch delivery and food needs throughout the program.
  • Co-facilitate workshops to help participants build workforce readiness skills.
  • Co-facilitate community-building activities and team check-ins.
  • Assist with other needs as assigned.
