About The Position

As a Registered Nurse – Educator, your in-depth knowledge and outstanding communication skills are key in fostering quality care, enhanced wellness and ongoing growth and development throughout Rochester Regional.

Requirements

• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• For Diabetes Education - Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or achievement of CDE status within two years of the start date in the position.
• For Wound Care - National Certification from Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) 0r Wound Care Certification (WCC) from NAWCO required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, health education, or instructional development or An equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience will be considered
• Minimum of 1 year prior training/teaching experience
• At least 6 months RN experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate the learning needs of customers by utilizing needs assessments, CQI results, performance improvement results, customer surveys and course evaluation results; document the effectiveness of educational offerings by developing, monitoring and assessing competencies; analyze cost to maximize the efficient utilization of resources
• Create educational programs and curriculum that promote quality healthcare, employee/patient growth and personal wellness; provide leadership in areas of expertise as a resource to the customer; develop communications and audio-visual materials that are clear and concise
• Facilitate programs to meet the identified learning needs of our customers; provide in-depth orientation, in-service and continuing education for staff or patients
