Educational Technology Sales Representative

Eduplanet21Mechanicsburg, PA

About The Position

Eduplanet helps schools and districts design, manage, and strengthen curriculum through intuitive technology, expert-guided professional learning, and practical tools that keep learners at the center of the work. Our platform supports curriculum development, alignment, collaboration, public curriculum communication, professional learning, analytics, and the thoughtful use of AI. We work alongside educators and school leaders to make curriculum design more connected, visible, and manageable. We are a small, experienced team looking for a relationship-driven sales professional who understands that meaningful educational partnerships are built through curiosity, credibility, and trust. The Educational Technology Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business with K-12 schools and districts. This person will identify prospective partners, understand their curriculum priorities and challenges, and help them determine whether Eduplanet is the right fit. This is a consultative sales role rather than a high-volume, transactional position. The successful candidate will be comfortable speaking with superintendents, curriculum leaders, instructional leaders, technology teams, and other district decision-makers. This person will manage the full sales process, from initial outreach and discovery through demonstrations, proposals, procurement, and contract completion. The role is well suited for someone who can combine consistent sales activity with a genuine understanding of how decisions are made in schools and districts.

Requirements

  • Experience in consultative sales, business development, account development, or another relationship-driven sales environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, understand customer needs, and connect those needs to a thoughtful solution.
  • Experience managing multiple stages of a sales process, including prospecting, discovery, presentations or demonstrations, follow-up, proposals, negotiation, and closing.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex products or services in clear, practical language.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Comfort managing a pipeline, maintaining accurate records, and consistently advancing opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small, cross-functional team.
  • Willingness to learn the K-12 education market, curriculum design landscape, and Eduplanet platform.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences, events, and customer meetings as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling software, SaaS, professional services, consulting, or other complex solutions.
  • Experience working with long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, or committee-based purchasing decisions.
  • Experience selling to schools, districts, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or a similar CRM platform.
  • Experience using Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, and other remote collaboration tools.
  • Experience conducting virtual product demonstrations, presentations, or discovery meetings.
  • Existing relationships in K-12 education or experience working with superintendents, curriculum leaders, instructional leaders, or district administrators.
  • Familiarity with educational technology, curriculum design, curriculum mapping, professional learning, or district procurement.
  • Experience responding to requests for proposals, security reviews, purchasing requirements, or formal procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop New Business: Build and manage a healthy pipeline of prospective K-12 school and district partners. Identify opportunities through targeted outreach, referrals, conferences, professional networks, partnerships, and inbound interest. Research prospective districts and tailor outreach to their current priorities, initiatives, and challenges. Conduct consistent follow-up while maintaining a professional, helpful, and relationship-focused approach. Meet established goals for qualified opportunities, proposals, new partnerships, and revenue.
  • Lead Consultative Sales Conversations: Conduct discovery conversations to understand each district's curriculum processes, strategic priorities, professional learning needs, technology environment, and decision-making structure. Demonstrate Eduplanet in a way that connects platform capabilities to the district's goals rather than relying on a standard feature presentation. Clearly communicate Eduplanet's value across curriculum design, curriculum management, collaboration, transparency, professional learning, analytics, and AI-supported planning. Help prospective partners understand what a successful implementation could look like in their district. Build trusted relationships with both executive decision-makers and the educators who will use the platform.
  • Manage the Sales Process: Maintain accurate opportunity records, next steps, contact information, notes, forecasts, and activities within the company's CRM. Coordinate demonstrations, follow-up meetings, proposals, pricing discussions, security reviews, procurement requirements, and contract completion. Identify key stakeholders, decision criteria, approval processes, timelines, and potential risks within each opportunity. Develop clear and accurate proposals in collaboration with company leadership. Provide reliable pipeline forecasts and communicate changes, concerns, and support needs early. Maintain momentum throughout sales processes that may extend across several months or budget cycles.
  • Represent Eduplanet: Represent Eduplanet at conferences, association events, webinars, district meetings, and other professional gatherings. Build relationships with education leaders, consultants, professional organizations, and potential strategic partners. Communicate with credibility and respect for the realities facing schools and districts. Stay informed about developments in curriculum, instruction, educational technology, AI, professional learning, and K-12 policy that may affect prospective partners.
  • Collaborate Across the Company: Work closely with leadership, marketing, product, and customer success to create a consistent experience from the initial conversation through implementation. Share market feedback, common objections, emerging district needs, competitive insights, and product requests with the broader team. Provide a complete and thoughtful handoff when a new customer moves into onboarding and customer success. Contribute to sales messaging, campaigns, conference strategies, proposals, and other business development materials. Communicate openly in shared team channels so that information remains visible and accessible.

Benefits

  • Help shape the growth of an established education company entering its next stage.
  • Represent a platform designed around the real work of educators and curriculum leaders.
  • Work directly with company leadership and have a visible influence on sales strategy.
  • Bring insights from the market into product development, messaging, and company direction.
  • Join a small team where initiative, good judgment, and meaningful contributions are recognized.
