About The Position

The Educational Technology and Platform Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and operational support of the IEEE Learning Network platform (IEEE's learning management system). This role ensures the platform runs smoothly by managing user access, data integrity, reporting, and routine troubleshooting. The Administrator also provides frontline technical support to the customers and partners of IEEE Educational Activities, escalating complex issues as needed. This position functions as an individual contributor and does not involve instructional design, curriculum development, or content creation.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS)
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for routine technical issues
  • Strict attention to detail and ability to manage process-driven tasks accurately
  • Strong customer service, administrative, and software skills
  • Experience uploading digital content (e.g., SCORM packages) and managing course configurations
  • Familiarity with data validation, auditing, and maintaining data integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Comfortable working independently within defined processes
  • Highly competent in working with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years Learning management administration, educational technology, and/or technical support strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day administration of the ILN platform, including researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and course configurations
  • Provide first-line technical support to learners, customers, and partners, resolving routine platform questions and issues
  • Upload courses and related materials to ILN
  • Generate and distribute standard and custom reports to internal stakeholders and external institutional customers
  • Deliver SCORM sales orders following established processes
  • Assist and/or collaborate with internal/external platform teams to test and/or implement ILN enhancements and updates
  • Write new and/or update existing user guides, documentation and/or processes
  • Audit LMS content, course links, and URLs to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Assist in executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) using predefined scripts
  • Provide backup support to the Educational Technology and Platform Specialist as needed to ensure operational continuity
  • Work on other Educational Activities projects as needed and assigned
