About The Position

The Educational Programming Developer (EPD) is responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of professional learning programming for educators, both credit and non-credit, within the Office of Professional Learning (OPL). The role supports the development of high-quality and responsive offerings for audiences across the educational sector, including early childhood education, K-12, adult education, and other related disciplines/areas. In collaboration with the Director, Office of Professional Learning, this role is responsible for the design, planning, coordination, and evaluation of programs, supporting academic integrity, operational effectiveness, and alignment with program, financial, and enrolment objectives. The EPD works closely with faculty, instructors, field partners, and other key parties to support program delivery, continuous improvement, and ongoing relevance to educator and field needs.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Education degree or a degree in a related field.
  • Experience in the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs in a university setting and/or working with senior academic administrators and/or faculty members is an asset.
  • Prior experience in a revenue generating unit and/or work on revenue generating portfolios will be considered an asset.
  • Strong project coordination and event planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with a variety of constituents, including faculty, staff, educators, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment as well as independently.
  • Adaptability and initiative.
  • Experience with learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and/or WordPress is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs, implements, and evaluates professional learning programs and events, including both in-person and online opportunities, ensuring alignment with Faculty objectives, enrolment targets, revenue goals, and a positive experience for faculty, participants, instructors, and external partners.
  • In collaboration with faculty, subject matter experts, facilitators, and/or instructors, develops programming proposals, including providing input on curriculum and delivery structures and supporting alignment with relevant academic, licensing, and/or field needs.
  • Consults with educators and other key field partners to inform program design and delivery.
  • Plans and schedules course offerings within assigned program areas, liaising with Marketing & Communications to support the timely rollout of recruitment and promotional efforts.
  • In collaboration with senior leadership, including the Assistant Dean and Director, supports the identification, assignment, and onboarding of instructors/facilitators and helps ensure appropriate support is in place for the duration of the program.
  • Coordinates program and event execution, including the development of program management tools, budgets, curriculum development processes, facilitation contracts and protocols, and external vendor contracts.
  • Develops program assessment and evaluation tools, including participant feedback mechanisms.
  • Prepares and analyzes statistics and performance reports, and recommends improvements based on learner feedback and progress toward targeted outcomes.
  • Liaises with University-wide units and external partners to support the development and implementation of programs, including marketing, learning design, finance, event planning, IT, and A/V.
  • Prepares and monitors program budgets and summary reports to support resource planning and cost management.
  • Coordinates instructor appointments with the Administrative Manager, processes payments related to programming, and reconciles program budgets upon completion in collaboration with the Faculty Finance team.
  • Assists the Faculty Marketing & Communications team with the development of marketing strategies for program areas.
  • Provides the Faculty Marketing & Communications team with enrolment/participant data, statistics, reports, and related information, as requested.
