About The Position

The Office of Interprofessional Practice and Education (IPE) at UNT Health Science Center advances the university's commitment to preparing a collaborative, practice-ready healthcare workforce. The office provides leadership, coordination, and assessment of interprofessional education and practice initiatives that bring together learners, faculty, clinicians, and community partners across health professions. Its mission is to cultivate a culture of teamwork, communication, and collaborative problem-solving that improves health outcomes and patient safety. Working across multiple colleges, departments, clinical settings, and partner institutions, the office designs and delivers innovative educational experiences that promote the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) competencies of values and ethics, roles and responsibilities, interprofessional communication, and teamwork. Through strategic partnerships, scholarship, and service, the Office of Interprofessional Practice and Education strengthens UNT Health's leadership in healthcare education while preparing future professionals to thrive in complex, team-based environments. The Educational Program Assistant Director, within the Office of Interprofessional Practice and Education (IPE), will have the primary responsibility for maintaining interprofessional programs, trainings, courses, etc. for students, faculty, and clinicians/professionals. This role focuses on the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, communications, and administration of a wide variety of educational programs to increase and enhance interprofessional practice education. This position works collaboratively with other UNT Health departments, colleges, programs, and clinical learning sites to accomplish institutional initiatives in support of Interprofessional practice and education, as well as with partnering institutions. The role will foster an emphasis on interprofessional collaboration core competencies to improve health outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of IPEC competencies for Interprofessional collaboration.
  • Extensive knowledge of health professions' curriculum and standards and curriculum/instructional strategy.
  • Knowledge of educational assessment and program evaluation methods and reporting.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and foster collaboration across healthcare professions.
  • Ability to work with students, faculty, and clinicians/professional.
  • Excellent presentation skills both visual and verbal.
  • Experience and/or specific training in design thinking and curriculum development.
  • Experience and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Smartsheets, Canvas, Articulate Rise, Power BI, and Qualtrics.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing assessment and evaluation, data and metrics, and reporting of program outcomes for the departments interprofessional practice education.
  • Provide support and implementation of all department activities and educational program logistics.
  • Clearly communicate information, data, outcomes both verbally and in writing.
  • Responsible for the preparation, dissemination, and publication of interprofessional practice education data and outcomes; for program assessment and accreditation records, campus communications (website and social media accounts), conferences, and academic scholarship/ journals.
  • Lead small teams of faculty to design and implement assessment and evaluation for interprofessional practice education; and support development of effective interprofessional education for all level of learners in collaboration with teams of faculty.
  • Plans and conducts faculty development training, with particular emphasis on curriculum/instruction design and assessment/evaluation methods unique for IPE.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Interprofessional Education and Practice.
  • Deliver presentations at local, state, and national venues.
