About The Position

Position Description: Responsible for performing a variety of duties; offers assistance and support to the staff in carrying out the objectives of the educational program in the school; performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience working with students and teachers on academic content standards
• Experience working with students and teachers on grade level proficiency tests
• Possession of a valid State of Ohio Educational Aide Permit with ESEA Credential
• General knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation
• General knowledge of basic mathematics
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Skill in exercising tact and discretion when communicating with students, parents, teachers, administrators and support staff
• Ability to perform oral reading to students individually or in groups
• Ability to interact with students to maintain discipline, order and resolve disciplinary problems
• Ability to assist students with various physical and intellectual needs
• Ability to handle behavioral situations in a calm and effective manner
• Ability to maintain accurate records and write reports and logs
• Ability to lift boxes of supplies and books
• Ability to bend, stoop and reach
