Job SummaryThe Paraprofessional provides instructional and behavioral support to students as assigned, under the direction of the classroom teacher and/or learning consultant. This role supports the implementation of individualized learning plans by assisting with modified instruction, skill reinforcement, remedial support, behavioral interventions, and real-time coaching. The Paraprofessional plays a vital role in promoting student progress, engagement, and independence within the learning environment.

Requirements

  • Teaching or instructional support experience preferred but not required.
  • Genuine interest in working with children and supporting their academic and social development.
  • Ability to follow instructional plans, directions, and guidance provided by teachers and learning consultants.
  • Understanding of child development and the needs of the age group being supported.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in the implementation of individualized learning plans through modified instruction, skill reinforcement, and remedial activities.
  • Assist with behavioral interventions and provide real-time coaching to support positive student behavior and learning outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and learning consultant to carry out instructional strategies and accommodations.
  • Collect, document, and report student performance and behavioral data as directed.
  • Communicate student progress and observations to the classroom teacher and learning consultant in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supervise and support students during instructional activities and other assigned times.
  • Participate in training and utilize provided resources to effectively support student needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
