About The Position

This is a newly created position to support a growing business in inspiring children through science and art, sparking lifelong imagination and curiosity. The company has over 30 years of experience delivering unique, hands-on science experiences for children through after-school programs, birthday parties, workshops, special events, and summer camps. The role involves leading students through inquiry-based discovery methods with instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and take-home projects. Classes are high-energy, combining entertainment and education, and can range from one hour to a full day. The position requires travel to various locations such as daycares, preschools, and schools. In addition to teaching, the role includes office duties supporting operations, such as maintaining client relationships, handling inquiries, creating business opportunities, assisting with client communications, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Some experience working with groups of elementary age (5-12) children (such as teacher, teachers assistant, instructor or camp counselor)
  • Must be available at least four days during the week and able to work at least twice a month a few daytime programs on the weekends
  • Must have a reliable car and valid driver's license
  • All employees are required to undergo a criminal background check
  • Have a fun & outgoing personality
  • You must be reliable and dependable
  • Able to lift our equipment which can sometimes weigh up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships with clients and updates contact databases as needed
  • Handle incoming inquiries for programming
  • Create new business opportunities (schools, organizations, camps)
  • Assist with client communications such as booking confirmations, invoices, follow-up surveys, and requested promotional material
  • Helping to maintain our equipment and supplies for our other instructors
  • Lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities and amazing take-home projects
  • Travel the area teaching in daycares, preschools, school and other fun places
