About The Position

As a member of a multidisciplinary clinical team, the Educational Diagnostician II conducts developmental evaluations of 0 to 3-year-old children to determine eligibility for the Infant-Toddler Program and to assess child and family needs for early intervention supports and services. The North Carolina Early Intervention Section is part of the Division of Child and Family Well-Being and is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program, which provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three, who have developmental delays and/or disabilities. Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) are the local agencies that implement the NC ITP across North Carolina, working with local service providers to help families help their children succeed. This position will be located in the Murphy office.

Requirements

• Master's degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution, and two years of experience in educational testing.
• OR A Bachelor’s degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution, and three years of experience in educational testing.
• OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Driving and travel by car throughout the CDSA catchment area is required.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of early childhood development and conditions that lead to developmental delays/disabilities.
• Experience conducting functional developmental evaluations using standardized instruments for young children who may have delays or disabilities.
• Experience interacting with and establishing rapport with families of young children.
• Experience in writing and interpreting assessment reports for families.
