About The Position

The Educational Assistant supports and assists the classroom teacher with tasks that help manage the classroom and support student learning. The teacher communicates these support tasks to the assistant. The school Director provides orientation and evaluation. The role helps uphold the mission, vision, learning, and discipline philosophy of St. Anthony School Preschool.

Requirements

• At least a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with long- and short-range activities aligned with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices, and program philosophy.
• Support the completion of assessments that monitor children’s developmental progress.
• Maintain daily, open communication with parents and guardians.
• Keep accident and incident reports accurate and up to date.
• Record and maintain anecdotal notes on each child’s development and behavior.
• Maintain confidentiality of child, family, and program information.
• Report suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate supervisor.
• Help arrange and maintain a classroom environment consistent with program goals and philosophy.
• Ensure the classroom is safe, clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Inspect, clean, and replace damaged or missing materials as needed.
• Attend required in-service trainings and monthly staff meetings.
• Keep administrative records up to date, including attendance, meal counts, and timesheets.
• Comply with applicable licensing requirements and YoungStar regulations.
• Collaborate with supervisors, directors, and lead teachers on classroom planning and activities.
• Assist lead teachers in setting and achieving monthly goals for each child.
• Support every child’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
• Help implement and maintain consistent daily routines.
• Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and professionalism in all interactions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
