About The Position
The Educational Aide works for the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), Americas, Mid Atlantic District, at Heroes Elementary School in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The position supports students and classroom instruction by handling testing materials and results, monitoring students, preparing instructional materials, tutoring students in all subject areas, and supervising students on field trips. Work is performed in a classroom setting.
Requirements
- At least one year of qualifying experience that prepares the applicant to perform the work; general experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work demonstrating the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for an Educational Aide.
- Alternatively, qualify with two years (60 semester hours) of education above high school, or a combination of education and general experience totaling at least 100% of the requirements.
- Resume must clearly describe relevant experience; transcripts are required when qualifying based on education.
- Foreign degrees and coursework must be evaluated through an acceptable procedure before acceptance.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- Appointment is subject to a suitability/fitness determination based on a background investigation, including a Tier 1 investigation with Childcare Checks.
- A two-year trial period is required.
Responsibilities
- Distribute and collect testing materials as needed by students.
- Grade tests and provide testing results using identified scoring techniques.
- Monitor students during various phases of the school day.
- Prepare instructional materials related to classroom lessons.
- Provide tutoring to students in all subject areas.
- Accompany and supervise students on field trips.
