About The Position

To support children and their families surrounding the school day, we operate our extended care program within 10 partnering elementary schools throughout the Millcreek Township School District (Asbury, Belle Valley, Chestnut Hill, Grandview and Tracy Elementary Schools) and Erie Catholic School System (Our Lady of Peace, Saint George, Saint James, Saint Jude and Saint Luke Schools). The Part-Time Educational Aide plays an important role in creating a positive before-and after-school experience by helping implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage each child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. They help create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where children can build friendships, explore their interests, and continue learning through play surrounding the regular school day.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience working directly with children.
Superior communication, decision-making, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

Actively supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
Help to create meaningful, high-quality verbal interactions that support each child’s learning and overall experience in our program.
Learn and assist in implementing our program curriculum while ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Collaborate with fellow staff to provide consistent, engaging and age-appropriate experiences for all children.
Learn and use our research-based techniques to effectively assist children with self-regulation and classroom behaviors.
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and well-maintained learning environment, including all materials and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
