About The Position

Excelsior Charter School is hiring a credentialed Education Specialist for its hybrid charter school program, assigned to the Barstow Campus. The school serves grades 7–12 and uses a hybrid academic model combining in-person learning, distance learning, and dual enrollment. The role supports students with mild/moderate needs through an inclusion model, with small-group and one-to-one support. It does not involve special day classes or classroom instruction outside of SAI. IEP meeting scheduling, testing, and service-provider coordination are handled by the SPED Central Office Department. A $6,000 stipend is available only to candidates with Preliminary or Clear Credentials.

Requirements

• Permit, Intern, Preliminary, or Clear Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate.
• Two professional letters of reference.
• Resume.
• Valid CPR.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate independent study students.
• Write and implement IEPs and 504 plans.
• Provide SAI in small-group settings and support students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Conduct labs and/or study halls.
• Plan lessons and grade student work.
